My name is Victoria Hohenstein and I am a scientist, an uber nerd, a dog enthusiast and a lifelong learner. I LOVE biology and have always had an interest in all science. I am teaching Pre-AP biology and Integrated Physics and Chemistry at Austin High School this year. Go Maroons!
My hometown is Bastrop, TX and I am a graduate of Bastrop High School. I received my undergraduate degree in microbiology, with a minor in chemistry, from University of Pittsburgh. After completing my bachelors, I moved to Baltimore to pursue a graduate degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University. I earned a masters degree in biology, with a focus in protein biophysical chemistry, while teaching an inquiry based course to introduce freshmen to laboratory research. I have also taught microbiology and biochemistry at the high school and college level. I look forward to bringing my experience and enthusiasm to Austin High School!
In my free time, I enjoy cooking (and eating!), working out, playing with my black Labrador Cody and watching science fiction on Netflix. I enjoy spending time outside and have a life goal of camping in all the United States national parks.
